Common Hemorrhoid Symptoms
You should take the following credo to heart: Any irregularity you detect
in or on or coming out of your body that does not go away for good,
pretty much by itself and fairly quickly, should be checked out by
a doctor.
Internal Hemorrhoids
There are two kinds of hemorrhoids: internal and external. Internal hemorrhoids
are those which can only be examined by a doctor. Internal hemorrhoids
are caused when the tissue supporting the veins in the anal canal weakens,
and the swollen veins and tissue can bulge into the anal canal. Symptoms
of internal hemorrhoids include bleeding during or after bowel movements,
itching or a burning sensation in the anus and rectal pain before,
during or after bowel movements.
External Hemorrhoids: An Overview
Simply stated, there are two kinds of hemorrhoids - the external type
which can be seen with the naked eye and the internal type which can
only be examined by a doctor. If the tissue that supports the veins
in the anal canal weakens, the swollen veins and tissue can bulge into
the anal canal (internal hemorrhoids) or under the skin surrounding
the anus (external hemorrhoids). Both conditions are identical in nature,
in treatment and they share common symptoms which include bleeding
during or after bowel movements, itching or a burning sensation in
the anus and rectal pain before, during or after bowel movements.
Bleeding Hemorrhoids: A Common Ailment
Bleeding hemorrhoids are common and occur with both internal and external
cases. Be sure to consult a doctor if you notice any bleeding from
the rectum before, during or after a bowel movement - and especially
any bleeding in the absence of a bowel movement.
The Many Causes of Hemorrhoids
Stated simply, hemorrhoids are caused by an increase in pressure on the
veins in the pelvic and rectal area that causes blood to pool or collect
inside them which in turn causes them to swell. A slight increase in
pressure causes the irritating itching sensation which affects most
people. This itching sensation can go away by itself if the underlying
cause is temporary and not too much pressure has been placed on the
veins. However, if the pressure continues to increase, the tissue will
continue to swell, which in turn will stretch the surrounding tissue
and more serious hemorrhoids may develop. The slight itching sensation
will turn to a more prevalent burning sensation and spots of blood
will start to appear on bathroom tissue after bowel movements.
HPV
HPV, or Human Papallimo Virus, is becoming a serious problem. Of the
100 known HPV types, 30 of them are transmitted sexually. Thousands
of new cases of HPV are found each year, and a high percentage of adults
have dealt with the infection at some time in their lives. HPV is a
growing problem.
HPV Symptoms
There are one hundred strains of HPV, thirty of which can lead to other
problems such as cervical cancer and genital warts. More and more people
contract HPV each year, making this a growing concern for the population.
Not all cases of HPV have symptoms. In fact, HPV symptoms only surface
if another problem is present.
HPV Treatments
Every year, more people are contracting HPV. It is often asymptomatic
and people usually don't realize they have it. However, in a small
number of cases, HPV can cause genital warts and cancer. What HPV treatments
exist to help treat and prevent HPV?
HPV Vaccine
Although contracting HPV doesn't guarantee that you will get cervical
cancers, a large number of cervical cancer cases are caused from HPV.
That is why it is a major breakthrough that a new HPV vaccine is now
available on an experimental basis to certain women. According to the
National Cancer Institute, 90% of all HPV cases go away on their own.
However, of the remaining 10%, the possibility of getting cervical
cancer increases.
Doctor Clinics
Doctor clinics are small medical facilities that provide treatment for
patients and are operated privately or as part of government hospitals.
Doctor clinics or outpatient clinics do not deal with cases that require
overnight stays. There are general care clinics, as well as specialty
clinics that treat diseases like cancer, weight loss, maternity, and
so on.
Doctors
A doctor is a person, especially a physician, dentist or veterinarian
trained in the healing arts and licensed to practice medicine. A physician
has earned the highest academic degree awarded by a university. When
referring to a physician, one usually prefaces the last name by "doctor." It
is a title well earned, as medical school is notoriously difficult
and laborious to complete successfully. Most people who enter med school
never finish. This is an intentional facet of the system, which is
designed so that only the best can survive in the health profession
as a doctor.
Family Doctors
A family doctor is a physician who has completed formal education and
training in family practice. Family doctors treat acute and chronic
illnesses, create health awareness for all age groups, take care of
hospitalized patients, perform surgery, attend deliveries, as well
as deal with common problems like the common cold. As part of the residency,
the family doctor is taught how to treat an individual throughout life.
Pregnancy Insomnia
Pregnancy and the growth of the child are nothing short of a miracle.
Just two cells multiply into trillions of cells and form body parts
and organs. There are billions of biochemical processes that have to
be just right. To support this creation, female hormones are increased
and reduced in production. This causes some problems to the mother
-- insomnia being one of the worst. Over three quarter of pregnant
women suffer from insomnia, defined as lack of adequate sleep.
Cause Of Insomnia
The National Institute of Health defines insomnia as, "the
perception or complaint of inadequate sleep" and classifies it as three types; transient, intermittent and chronic. Most
people have suffered from insomnia at one time or other in its transient
(one day to a month) or intermittent (occasional) form. Around 10% of
the population suffers from chronic insomnia. Elderly persons, menopausal
women and pregnant women are more likely to be more affected than others.
Chronic Insomnia
Insomnia or lack of adequate quality sleep is divided into three categories,
transient, intermittent and chronic. About 10 percent of the population
suffers from chronic insomnia.
