When a technician is working on a machine
in the industry he/she will need to turn off its electrical power at
the disconnect. The tech will also need to place a padlock on the disconnect
to ensure no one will turn the power on until the tech is ready. The
padlock will have a tag attached to it that has your name and picture
on it and the nature of the work the tech is doing. When co-workers find
the padlock and tag they will know who has the power turned off. This
procedure is called lockout tag-out. |
