 Video: Yoga Practice for Energy

From the editors of Yoga Journal, America's premier Yoga magazine, Yoga Journal's Yoga Practice for Energy is the most complete and innovative guide to Yoga. In this video you will find a new and exciting way to experience yoga that joins the cycles of earth and sun to your body, mind, and spirit. Filmed on the island of Maui, expert teacher Rodney Yee guides you through five practice sessions that follow the cycles of the sun from sunrise to sunset. In this video, movement, breath, and energy are what you focus on. There are no words or narrative instruction, just powerful yoga, energetic landscapes, and soothing music for inspiration. These five practice sessions have been specially designed to adapt to your busy lifestyle and changing needs. The five programs are: Awakening: At sunrise, is a series of slow, gentle stretches that awakens the body and mind and balances the emotions (10 minutes); Centering: Early morning, is a flow series of standing poses for aligning energy within the body and for grounding and connecting with the earth (8 minutes); Creativity: Mid-day, is a Sun Salutation of standing poses, back and forward bends for energizing the whole body, increasing vitality and creativity. (14 minutes); Reflection: Late afternoon, is a cooling, tranquil series of forward bends and hip openers that let all activities of the day seep in like watercolors setting into paper (10 minutes); and Surrender: At sunset, is deep relaxation combined with guided imagery.
